There is a common misconception that dyslexia only affects the ability to read and write. In reality, dyslexia can affect memory, organization, time-keeping, concentration, multi-tasking and communication. All impact on everyday life. Also, if you're in a relationship with someone whose brain works differently to yours it can be confusing and frustrating.
It’s up to us as a dyslexic person to find positive strategies to coping with communication difficulties. Below are some examples of challenges and what can be helpful. I would encourage you to think about what your communication challenges are and work toward what helps you.
