Working With Teachers

It is the responsibility of both the student and the teacher to work together to achieve academic success.

I interviewed an English/Social Studies teacher to gain her insights into how she works with students with IEP’s and what students can do to work with teachers to benefit a student’s success.

I myself find it extremely helpful to:

a. Provide an introductory email or request a meeting to identify key supports that I will need for

    the particular class

b. Check in with my teacher regularly to ensure I’m on track

c. Request before or after class help as needed

d. Request additional time as required
